Grace Gibbes Evins, MD
Dr. Evins received her undergraduate and doctorate degrees from UNC Chapel Hill and continued with residency training at MAHEC here in Asheville. She joined WNC OB/GYN in 1999 and is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her expanded clinical focus includes helping patients identify treatment options and solutions for breast disorders and incontinence.
After a casual conversation with Gigi Evins or a visit to the office, you’ll find she has two beautiful Alaskan Malamutes, Kodiak and Kenai. Always looking for outdoor activities, you may spot her on the trails running or socializing with friends and family on beaches spread near and far. Very interested in travel and photography, she is well rounded and down to earth. Other interests include cooking, gardening, and things that expand her mind.
Marla Jo Hardenbergh, MD
Dr. Hardenbergh received her undergraduate degree from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC and her doctorate from West Virginia School of Medicine. Her residency training was completed at West Virginia University Hospital and after passing her written Obstetrics and Gynecology Certification boards in 2006 she is eligible to take oral exams in Nov-Dec of 2008. She joined WNC OB/GYN in 2007 where she is proud to say…”I’m home!”
Marla Hardenbergh is originally from West Virginia and practiced in northern Idaho before coming to Asheville. She enjoys spending time outdoors especially if her two sons are with her. With the parks and recreation, you may see her out and about enjoying the outdoor activities our region has to offer.
Kent J. Scherr, MD
Dr. Scherr received his doctorate from University of North Dakota and did his residency training at MAHEC. He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and joined WNC OB/GYN in 2005. He earned a Physical Therapy degree and worked in that field for four-years prior to attending medical school.
Kent Scherr and his wife, a Certified Nurse Midwife with MAHEC, have two active boys. His family enjoys spending time together outdoors. Other interests include reading and playing his guitar.
Susan Grant, MA, LPA
Susan Grant received her BA in Religion from Wake Forest University and a MA in Clinical Psychology from Western Carolina University. After gaining 13 years experience, she joined WNC OB/GYN in 2002. She provides psychological evaluation and consultation in partnership with the WNC OB/GYN physicians. Her short-term therapy services provide support for a wide range of issues.
Susan has a passion for the outdoors. She has worked as an Outward Bound Instructor and whitewater kayak and raft guide. She has led trips for the Nantahala Outdoor Center in western NC and in the Himalayas of Nepal and India.
Isabelle Guzman, LMBT, NC #02711
Isabelle Guzman received her Massage Therapy Certification at the Center for Massage and Natural Health, NC in 1999 and she holds a national and state license in Massage and Bodywork Therapy. She completed her internship in Belize for certification in a unique abdominal massage therapy, and she has completed continuing education courses in pre and post natal massage. She provides therapeutic massage to patients to help relieve stress and further promote women’s health and well-being.
As life-long learner, Isabelle studies and interests include herbs, nutrition, homeopathy, and stress-management.
